I am currently torn between the Carrera Virago, or the focus cayo, i am not sure which one to get, and was wondering what everybody elses opinion is as to what to get, they are both pretty similar apart from i can get the carrera for £800 and the cayo would cost me £1k, also the virago has ultegra where as the cayo has 105, normally i would go straight for the virago, but i have heard that carbon made in taiwan is sometimes pretty rubbish, does anybody know if this is true? and please no brand snobbery i am not bothered if it is made by halfords or focus.

  • Thje Focus is also probably made in Taiwan (or other Far East Country) - possibly the same factory as the Carrerra so don't let that sway your decision.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos
  • if youre happy to spend £800 in a car accessory shop then go ahead..............i know i wouldnt be :D

I would guess that most carbon frames are manufactured in the Far East...even high end stuff.I ride a Scott Addict R1, over £2k for the frame. I'm sure thats from Taiwan. So where its from isn't really an issue.

I would go for Cayo. I had one a few years back & thought it was spot on. Wiggle are pretty good to deal with aswell.
