  • Sorry you've had this bad experience. I suspect you might be right that many of us are in the UK and you're obviously not. It'd be interesting to see if anyone who has posted positive responses are outside the UK (and spending a large sum)

Aren't there any web based bike suppliers in Greece? However coming here and buying something has to be fairly safe. Have a good trip.

i chose crc because the bike was a good enough price

yes there online shops here but not that cheap sometimes its cheaper to import than buy certain things here

i recently bought a fuel pump for my daihatsu 4x4 from the US it was cheap and came in 3 days of ordering so i dont think it is unreasonable to expect the same service from N I

thanks for thegood wishes of a good trip i bet a few on here wish me dead but never mind

    cheers

It does strike me that you're now cutting off your nose to spite your face. I mean in the grand scheme of things how much difference does one day make when you've now committed to a far bigger delay than that? Yes, they could have done better, but it's far, far from the worst case of customer service I've heard of, even for places just shipping inside the UK. Are your expectations just a little bit high?
  • i live in the sticks so i had to travel 25 miles to copy some docs to send to crc on the understanding that if i sent them today the order would go out today ie order processed
so i dont see what the problem is picking 1 out of a warehouse eh

alright you think £800 notes is nowt well give some of your excess cash if you want!!

    the end

So, you're going to spend more cash, and expend time and effort coming to the UK to collect something rather than let CRC sort it out (which I have no doubt they would)? Seems senseless to me.

All the time you've spent venting on here could have been put to better use explaining the problem to CRC (although we all like to vent once in a while).

And by the way dude, punctuation can be your friend.

Yes, and what has any of that got to do with anything I said? So they promised you something they didn't manage to do - or to be more precise somebody working there who wasn't used to dealing with people in Greece did. I wonder how many UK companies would manage a seamless delivery to Crete - I bet it's not many. You'd still have got your bike quicker had you stuck with them and let them sort it out than by doing what you're doing - it seems the additional delay will be more than you've lost so far with CRC.

The best way to contact them is by fax, I always get a swift response from them by e-mail or they phone me.

The best way to contact them is surely by carrier pigeon

You may well mock but I have done it more than once and it I always get a response within the hour, they phone me back usually. It beats e-mail all ends up or trying to get through on the phone. Fax is the way forward!

I hope that you are 100% efficient at work in whatever you do newoldieroadie...

Bearing in mind they have to build the bike, then dismantle it to pack it into a box, arrange shipping, and check whether you were not a fraudster, I would suggest shipping it within 3 days is very good... A bit more to it than going down the local shop for a loaf of bread no?

You're being a tad optimistic if you expect Evans to have the exact bike you want in the shop for you to take away there and then. My experience with them is that it'll generally take several days to get a bike brought in from the warehouse and built up. Guess you may be lucky, but judging by your experience at CRC I would suspect not

For one and being based in Belgium, I can confirm that CRC are brilliant - I order most of my bike stuff from them (being one of the best online bike shops around!) and orders to Belgium have always been shipped quickly. Very happy to have spent 500 quid+ with them this year alone, and will use them a lot more in the future.
no she didnt so i rang again she said oh yes i got them thanks thats great your order will be sent today i said good today yes she said asked for some pedals to be added no problem we sent it as urgent today

I echo aracer's comments - so basically you're gonna look at alternatives just because they'll send you the bike ONE day later than anticipated!!! If you are so 'disturbed' by this prime example of poor customer service – and expect prompt service - why don't you look at buying your bike from a provider in Greece ? Having lived abroad for a while, I am still amazed at how annoying Brits can be when it comes to expectations of customer service, thinking that because you have to wait for 10 minutes to speak to someone or waiting for an extra 24 hours for an item to be shipped abroad (…especially when the parcel is going to take at least 5 working days to arrive anyway), you can just go and have a rant about how ‘crap’ the company is (… better avoid moving to Belgium if you expect any customer service by the way!) On a side note, if I was working for CRC and received an email written in the way you wrote it, I don’t think I’d be in a hurry to answer you![/quote]
