Has anyone used the Slime stuff in a tubeless setup? I was going to try it or something similar in my Zesty 514. I have never had tubeless tires before and have not had any punctures yet but have not used it as much as I would have liked. Any advise on the tire goo thing or should I just not bother. I mostly like out in the peaks and around ladybower area.

Thanks
:)

There's some reason the slime stuff's no good in tubeless. Can't remember what though!

Stans, JRA, etc are designed for tubeless and will do the job better. I've used ... can't remember .. not Stan's ... may have been JRA tyre milk, something of a similar name?

PS don't spill it in the boot of your car , it's sticky and designed not to dry up for ages
  • Cheers for that, I assume with Stan's you just deflate the tyre, seperate it from the rim and pour it in? The Slime one comes with a plastic tube for inserting it through the valve but that is for inner tubes, not sure if you can insert it the same way but if it's not very good then I guess it makes no difference!

You can insert it through the valve or by deflating the tyre and separating a part of it from the rim.

    I wouldn't use slime.

These are meant to be very good.

They don't dry up for years apparently, while stans and such can dry up in a few months.
  • I used Slime for about 3 years with no issues and it worked well. I've used Linseal for about 3 years now due to the value and it's fantastic. Lots of particles to block holes and you get 1ltr for about £8.

Have a look for it in agriculterural type shops.
  • That's brilliant, I shall invest in one of those. Thanks very much.
