Women's framesets seem to be very rare, does anybody sell them? I've got a bike's worth of components that I'd like to build up for my wife. Where do I find that frame?

Not really any womens framestes. Tend to come as ready-built bikes eg Trek WSD or Spesh Dolce. Do you need a womans frame? A custom frame may be better. My partners main bike was built for a man but happened to fit her. She has a Sunday bike that was a standard geometry but we played around with the headtube/stem/seatpost and it's right for her

I'm gonna sell my wife's Dolan frame+forks soon. 52.5 cm ETT. Keep an eye on the classifieds.

You should be able to get an Orbea Diva as a frame set. It's the women specific Orca.
  • Thanks for the replies. I'm looking a little further down market. This will be her first road bike so a preliminary stab is what I'm after.

So, are the Ribble frames a good buy or is the price too good to be true?

I just started another thread without seeing this one. Looking to get the missus a road bike, how tall is your wife?

Hmm.. my missus is 6'1" but finds my 54cm cannondale with 54cm top tube a stretch. Most of her height must be made up with those legs!

That's the thing; ladies tend to have longer legs / shorter torsos than blokes. So they need a shorter top tube without shortening seat or head tubes.

I know this because I'm a bloke but seem to be proportioned more like a lady. I'd have a women's specific bike, only they seem to come in such ghastly colours. I've ended up with a small frame and a lot of seat post / spacers / short, flipped stem.

Kinesis do a female / junior specific frameset KR210L in several sizes.
  • Don't know if it has bird specific geometry, but the Look 555 in pink is absoulutely gorgeous (and seemingly on sale wherever you see it). I'd have one myself.
