Dalkiia or Planet X?

Thinking of putting a TT bike together (on a limited budget!). Both of the above look good value (and pretty similar). Anyone able to offer an opinion on quality/preference? Any others worth thinking about?

Ta.

Hi, I got myself a Planet X Stealth this year. Got the frame only and built it up on a budget myself. My choice was between the Planet X and the Ribble Aero. Went with PX because of the large number of great reviews and the fantastic customer service from Ian at Planet X. Got the bike built up and managed to win my clubs TT championship on it in my first season of TTing. Cuddles Evans used one in the 2007 TdF TTs so it's not a frame that'll slow you down.

I'm a big fan of Planet X and will be going back for a disc and aero front wheel for next season.

The last time I looked, the only difference was the paint job and the price - they are likely to come from the same Taiwanese/Chinese factory - as well as Ridleys, Dolans and many others
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

They do look very slightly different - the P-X has lumps on the back of the seat stays, the Dalkiia doesn't. Seat post looks slightly different too. Dropouts are rear facing on the P-X

I think the Dalkiia is the same as the Dolan and the Corbontec/Onyxx, and no doubt many others.

Anyway, too late, I've bought a second hand Planet-X! £315, incl. post, for the so called fuselage - frame/forks/s-post/h-set.

Seemed reasonable to me. What say the Bikeradar massive?

The newer Dalkiia is different but their previous frame was the same as the P-X / Ridley (as per TdF 2007) / Karbona / etc
£315 seems a good price - a good number of guys using them and gaining good results too, pretty big jump in price IMHO for a better frame (Cervelo P2C etc) so i reckon they are well worth the money.

  • Dalkiia has concealed cables, PX does not, so if you're equally keen on the two, maybe that small aero advantage swings it?

Not much in it. Which do you fancy the most?

Dalkiia have reduced the frame/fork/post price down to £499 at present. So it's now the same price as the Planet X.

I too am considering both frames. However, dare I swear........

Halfords are selling the Carrera Virago TT for £999. I've just been to look at it and it appears to be exactly the same frame, made in Taiwan too· This surely must be a bargain??
