hi,i was wondering if anybody has any idea where i could find the address or phone number for boardman bikes as the only contact info i can find is for halfrauds, even on the boardman website it just lists halfrauds as point of contact, but i want to speak to the people themselves about issues i have with my boardman sport mtb,do they realise halfrauds are crap and are probably giving boardman a bad name,i have only had my bike for 4 weeks and for 3 of those it has been in halfrauds, with a rear mech fault which they cant seem to fix.and it was shockingly put together by a monkey who apparently failed to notice the bent rear hanger and damaged the front caliper on installation which the shop tried to blame me for saying i had been tampering with it.i bought the bike on the cycle to work scheme and so far i have used the car,all i want is point of contact details can anybody help.i wonder if mr boardman himself looks on the forums perhaps he will read this and get in touch.

I think they're just Halfords bikes aren't they? Conceived and built by Halfords, with Chris Boardman's name and input on them.
  • I recommend contacting them via email, despite what it says on their web site I used the Boardman Media address, media@boardmanbikes.com. "Please note, this email is intended for media / PR use only - we will not be able to answer general or non media related questions. Please use the customer service email address". I was firm and factual in my message. Boardman got things moving with my preferred Halfords dealer.

Your alternative is to contact Alan@boardmanbikes.com, these were the contact details I exchanged dialogue with after the initail contact.

I was happy with the final outcome, both Boardman and Halfords being accommodating. It is a shame that Boardman see the need to hide.

Should not let them build the bike. I know it adds a little more expense to get it done elsewhere but I assume most of them just put the bits together, not tune them to perfection.

I got it done by a professional and never had an issue from day one, worked perfectly.

Boardman is a company in its own right but I don't think would exist without Halfords. They pay C Boardman a consultancy for use of his name and a commission.

Look up Boardman on Companies House, you'll be able to get Reg Office etc which is normally an Accountants but who would forward on any post. Also Directors (of which Boardman is one) would be listed with names/addresses etc.
  • i took runoutofgears advice and emailed alan, who phoned me back within an hour and said he had passed my details onto the head of customer service, who in turn has also called me to say that there must be a fault with the frame and they are sourcing me a new one,and he will see to it that iam kept informed etc.so many thanks for your suggestion.
  • jasons1976, I hope it works out ok.

Also remember that you are on this cycle to work scheme - the bike ain't yours, it belongs to your employer. That might be worth something in who does some of the donkey work here.

SOunds like Halfords trashed the bike.
