I have one. What exactly is it you're asking? My large frame comes in at a bit under 10kg and the bike handles my bumpy commute over gravel/dirt/cobbles/shoddy concrete just fine. Pretty nippy on the roads and does the job - I think it's ideal for commuting if you have a mixed terrain but I wouldn't try using it in place of a mountain bike 'off road'. Haven't got a road bike to compare it to but I think with slicks it would do a pretty reasonable job as one.
  • thanks Pastryboy for the info yes I wanted a cross bike not an all out mountie because of the gearing and larger wheels as there are manya steep inclines on the road and rough ground also on the routes i wish to ride

what pedal do you have and what shoes do you wear

    thanks

For rough ground it's ideal, a large chunk of my journey is on gravel and I always ride as fast as possible so I need good traction and have had no problems at all. I do 29 miles a day five days a week and although I've only had it for a month, you can imagine it's had a fair amount of abuse. It definitely feels more like a road bike than a MTB but that's what I was after. Not keen on is the sora shifters as they're awkward to reach unless you're riding on the hoods - that's probably the only thing I'd change about it.

The pedals that came with it were fine (wellgo SPD's) but I moved them to my other bike and picked up some Shmano M520's for it (think they're slightly heavier so don't feel like I really upgraded). I use either lidl shoes or the £47 dhb mtb ones from wiggle.
