puncture..am i just stupid??

So....i picked up my new bike today....planet x alu with carbon forks etc. Had a fantastic first ride on it but then punctured a couple of miles from home. Out came my spare tube but i couldn't get the bloody back wheel off! I'm admittedly not great at mechanics but im not that bad!

I undid the quick release and also the hub on the cassette side but not a chance!!

Am I not getting something??!!

Thanks....no i didn't, but i got absolutely no movement from the wheel ! I will go and check again...!

Undo the brake calliper, then the QR and give the wheel a bang from above as it may be stuck in the dropouts which can happen.

This happened to me a while ago too. Turned out it needed a really hard bang to get it out of the dropouts (assuming you have already done everything previous posters mentioned!).

You may also need to unscrew the skewer a bit.
