We're travelling along the M4 to Wales for some MTBing next weekend.....other than the crappy roadside services, is anyone to recommend a good breakfast stop enroute?

Whereabouts are you looking to stop (the M4 is quite long ).0

Yep! Afan it is.
Where's the Drop off Cafe? We're coming from Brighton way so will be rumbling by Bristol!0 -
come off the M4 down the M32 keep straight on past the shopping centre then on the left is york cafe for a giant breakfast bap. but serioulsy
As for on the M4 no idea theres only really the motorway services, plenty of nice places in Bath or Bristol, but the time lost doesn't really make it worth while...why not pack your own then wait till post ride for a food at the dropp off.0 -

The man knows what he is talking about. Can't stand a fry up before a ride, m'self. Had fried eggs inna bap before the Exmoor Explorer and felt quite incorrect for the first five miles or so.0 -
You should be able to find somewhere on http://www.5minutesaway.co.uk.
I usually just run on pot luck & pull off the motorway when I need a break into a village pub I like the look of though.Statistically, Six Out Of Seven Dwarves Aren't Happy0 -
There is a little country tea house type place about 10 minutes off the M4 towards Bath. I've never been there though, so I can't give you a review. Looks like the sort of place in the country where you'd stop for tea and scones, so I don't know if they do a good brekky.0

don't knock motorway greasy spoons, they're as good as any. They're better when they're busy mind, so the eggs don't have too much of a chance to turn to rubber.
If you want to come off at Chepstow and run into town (ten minutes from the motorway at most) there's a chippy / greasy restaurant by Safeway in the town centre and then you've got an hour and a bit to Port Talbot / Afan in which it will think about digesting...0 -
there's a Sainsburys with a cafe at the designer outlet at Bridgend right by the side of the motorway. Also a Macdonals etc inside the actual outletI wear Lycra because I like the way it feels0

You're not referring to the place where Ron Davies MP went looking for badgers are you :oops:I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
I think Clapham Common is well off route....0

If you don't want to go off the motorway then try Madgor Services, about 5 miles after the toll bridge, niot the cheapest but last time I was there reasonable food.0
