How do USE spin stix skewers work?

I have been looking at them on wiggle, and am left wondering how they actually work?

    The smaller nut is loosened by hand as opposed to a cam lever being opened.
    Sounds a bit fiddly but works pretty well once you are used to it.Hold the larger 'lever' end, undo nut a turn or 2, wheel can be removed !
