Hi,
I currently have a Rockhopper Disc 09, 17", which I've had for several months. I also have a Crosstrail Expert, Large.
The Crosstrail is as expected a more upright position and feels more comfortable than being on the smaller 17" Rockhopper. I also have a lower back problem, which is made worse on the Rockhopper. I'm 5'7" tall.
I'm thinking if I should change(or try) the Rockhopper 19" i the hope if may give a more upright riding position.
I'd appreciate any advice on this or does anyone know of a comparable mountain bike which has the most upright riding position, say like the Crosstrail?
Thanks.

The larger bike will stretch you out more.
My advice would be buy a higher rise stem and/or bars.0 -

Could try a shorter stem first.0

If a change the stem or get higher bars won't that change the handling of the bike?0

So will a totally diffent size and your ride position!0 -
I guess changing the stem wouldn't make the handling worse?
Or in what way would it change?0 -
Easier to get the front end up. Quicker handling. Only disadvantage really is more upright position so not as aero (which would be an advantage for you) and wont be quite as good at climbing. But it will make it descend better.0

Hmm, the Hardrock Pro has a shorted top tube. Perhaps I should have got that.0
