I'm into getting new brake pads. I currently run DA 7700 on alu rims.
I want the best possible performing pads on long descents with lots of braking.

I run salmon pads on my bike. They are fantastic all year round but seriously come into their own in the winter months. They are cheap at £6 a pair and seem to last me ages. I run them on both my commuter and my road bike. When the weather is bad they also Eli eliminate the awful black sludge from around the rim too.0

I use the Swiss Stop Green, excellent stopping power especially in the wet but they do seem to generate the back sludge in the wet, but not anywhere as bad as the Campy brake pads. I might give those Koolstop Salmon ones a go just to compare.0

A vote here for Kool Stops - especially in the Salmon flavour. 8)
....slightly better than standard Shimano in the dry, noticeably better in the wet with good modulation in either.Cycling weakly0 -
Swissstop green. No question. Best pads I've ever used on alloy rims0

Swisstop Green.
(Koolstop Salmon a close second and a bit cheaper)
I think the newer Shimano pads (6700 & 7900?) are meant to be much better, but
the old ones are rubbish.0
