Tall and slim - which size bib tight?

Vital stats are 6ft 2inches and 34 inch waist; typically size charts suggest that my sizing by height is tall and by waist is medium.

Do I buy 34 inch waist tights and risk being bent double  or a larger size and have surplus material around the back side to catch on the saddle  when starting off?

Are any of the brands particularly suited to my skinny frame?

  • I have the same problem as you but more so. I'm 6'2 with a 32 inch waist. I'm looking for some bib shorts at the moment, you don't want to leave them too large and end up with the baggy bottom effect, but you don't want to be giving yourself a massive wedgie either.
  • I got a 38" waist and am 5ft 10" so according to specialized charts i should have a medium and a large and a section of extra large which they dont do in the team kit lol so i had to settle for the large and i got to hope it fits now!! getting it tomorrow delivery.

I'm 6'1" with a 32" waist and on the advice of my LBS I bought my Lusso bib tights (and later Lusso shorts) in the large size. Both fit perfectly as the material is made to be figure hugging and can cope with a fair range of waist and thigh sizes.

The problem with going for smaller is that the straps won't reach over the shoulders unless you are bent double.

I'm 6'2.5 with a 32 inch waist, I wear Nalini size 3 and they fit perfectly if that helps. I also have a long back and the straps fit fine too.

I would recommend you look primarily at Italian manufacturers, whose sizing tends to cater better for the slimmer figure (such as myself). I'd say get in touch with Andy or Mick at Prendas Ciclismo, who will be able to advise you. http://www.prendas.co.uk/default.asp

The Santini bibs that they have are excellent!
