Hi there,
I've got a Rockshox Tora 318 Coil with U-Turn and I think they are due a service. I've tried finding a service kit and am having a little trouble. I've found a few kits listed simply as Tora Service Kits:

http://www.bonthronebikes.co.uk/56-476780
http://www.sbrsports.com/56-476780
Will these be the correct ones for my fork? I've also found other kits that are listed as Tora 289/302 Service Kit and am assuming that they will not fit?If not, can anyone point me in the direction of a place to buy a service kit?
Thanks, Tom

TF tuned sells all the kits.If they don`t list what you want phone them, they are incredibly helpful.
As your forks are coil,I guess you mean the stanchion seal kit? These are pretty much a universal fit to all the 32mm stanchion RS models, and cost £30 from TFT.
If you are only taking the lowers off,you may not need the seal kit, unless you find that they are leaking or worn.My seals were still in good nick when I serviced my forks so I cleaned them lubed them, took the foam rings out cleaned/lubed them with plenty of 15wt oil.
You might find you only need some 15wt oil.I get mine for £6 from Chain reaction.

Have you read the service instructions on the RS website? There are also some good video tutorials,on there.2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
2017 Canondale Supersix Evo0 -
As per The Spiderman, give TF Tuned a call - they are really helpful !0

Thank you both. I think I'll give TF Tuned a call on Monday!
Though I may just remove the lowers and see how good the seals are before I do anything else.
BTW The Spiderman thanks for the tip about the video tutorials, have looked at the rockshox website a million times and missed them, it was only when I was looking that I saw them!0 -
Hi there
I recently put new stanchion seals in my 302 u turn Toras. I phoned TF Tuned and they told me to just buy some Manitou Evil Genius 32mm seals from their website, £15. If you have more than one seal on each leg then you need a full kit though.Best to phone them for advice.

Quick question, is all fork oil the same? I can't find any 15w on CRC but have seen Castrol fork oil elsewhere in 15w which is listed as motorcycle fork oil. Is there any difference? Also does it make a difference if I buy synthetic or mineral based?
Thanks, Tom0 -
This is the stuff I used, called fork 'fluid' which is maybe why you couldn't find it

15wt for the lower leg.
If your going to change the oil in the damper then thats 5wt I think (check SRAM webbie to be sure for your fork)0 -
I think I probably need to service my fork at some time soon (Tora SLite 2009 which apparently is an OEM version of the Tora SL?) This has turn-key lockout and rebound damping adjustment but no other adjustments.
Couple of related questions -
Is there a cheaper alternative than paying £30 for the service kit which seems extortionate for just a few seals?
The service manual on the SRAM website is from 2006, and it has instructions for u-turn forks but doesn't mention non-u-turn ones. Is there any difference servicing these?0 -
You can do a basic strip and clean (and oil change) without having to replace o rings.
You can use motorbike fork oil. Check it has no seal swellers though. I use Fuchs.0
