so its just me to be the lucky one then altho its going to be a dam sight more than 3k to get a 2010 bike and i wont be getting one of those! The bike is fab think they could have put a bit better spec instead of the "bontrager" kit.

Do you not like the bontrager stuff? Is it not very good? Whats wrong with it? What would you change?

One of the guys we ride with thinks Bontrager is the "coolest" bike brand full stop!

i have a remedy 7, but i have only ever seen 2 other remedy's other than my own on the trails and one of them was a demo bike, i have found them to not be very common on the trails in my experience,

to me bontrager is treks own way of saving money by sticking theyre own makes on theyre bikes. I love the bars on the bike very nice, HATE the seat the wheel set doesnt seem to be the best for me am neally 15st so am after mavics with hope hubs if anyone fancys a swap......

my mate has an R9, nice bike, even his weight in the past, did not effect it, and the kit on the bike, is highend? seat is like £70 to replace , post £90? ( like for like)


wheels are very light, and stiff, and strong, to replace them would cost a fair bit, unless you want to spec the bike with lesser kit?


( he was 19 stone, riding the bike for a fair bit, on the trails, no issues)

I have one 09 model, can't fault it after 4mths
Its climbs as good as it desends. Took me a while to dial it in though.
It also great with a pure racing k900i seat post.
On my 2nd fame due accident and dislocated hip, trek were fab and replaced under warranty. outstanding customer support.

I have got a remedy 9 at the moment whilst waiting for my heckler to be delivered (had a 2009 meta 552 but after 3 frames cracking have given up) - i love it, though it is starting to show its age and the miles i put on it.
I saw another one at the weekend whilst doing a 100km charity ride in exmoor

I actually nearly put money down on one while I was away... had a few tests etc.

But I couldn't get over how ugly the stem is... (yea I know... its only a stem... easy to change... but on a 3K bike?!).

I've lusted after a Remedy for a long time but the funds have always evaded me and with the ridiculous price hike for '10 it'll be even longer before i ever own one unfortunately
