    Judging by Wiggins little tweet battle with Cycling Weekly today, it seems unlikely he's going to Sky.

    And there's a recent interview with Vaughters where he suggests it would take a lot of notes to buy Bertie out of his contract.

    I hope Contador doesn't change to focus from being the best allround cyclist in the world, to becoming the best part-time cyclist in the world.

    Getting off his bike in July, as MG pointed out, has got Armstrong a lot of stick in the past.
    If Contador also now suffers from "fatigue", having ridden a light Spring campaign, the Dauphine and the Tour, he should get stick, too.
    Plenty, IMO.

    I admit to being confused.


    I believe that Contador has doped in the past.
    I dislike dopers.
    But I rather like Contador.
    I love Garmin.
    I want Garmin to win a Grand Tour.
    I would jump up and down and squeal with delight if Garmin could sock it to Armstrong by winning the Tour with Contador. (And I'd fall into orgasmic ecstasy if they could win with Wiggins).
    But I would forever worry that Contador had doped to win, and how would Garmin look when/if he tested positive.

    Vaughters must have investigated AC pretty thoroughly to even contemplate hiring him. Or rather, paid a haematologist a lot of cash to do so.

    Which would indicate that he is now riding clean.

    But he's ridden for the Hog for the past few years.....


    And so on and so on.

    Can someone square this circle for me?

    Vaughters posted about this on the cyclingnews forum a few weeks ago (username JV1973). He said that he had only met AC for dinner once to discuss possiblities (when it looked like Astana might collapse pre-Tour). He said he hadn't got to the stage of asking to see blood profiles. He also said he had heard from 'very good sources' (his words) that AC was clean.

    Whether anything has changed since then - who knows.
