ok thats it I've had enough of this, I just got all ready for my saturday night bit of exercise and yet again I getting a flat tire, its very lucky I made it home with as little agrovation as I did feeling the difference in presure and made it to a nearby station.

This is like the 5th flat tire Ive had and I have only had the bike 2 months and commute 2 miles max a day.

These tires have got to go, they are slicks the units that shipped with the bike from the store, I will consider mixing tires on front and back and I seem to get the majority on the back tire.

I have looked around but can only see threads from 2007 talking about Armadillo tires?

What is the best adult road bike tires which perform

[x] Excelent in anti puncher
[x] Good in ride performance
[x] Fair in speed and smoothness of ride.

  • Plus what are you pumping your tyres up with as you might be getting pinch flats.
Are you using a track pump with gauge as it will help you get the righht pressure if that is the problem.
  • Have you found the cause each time? I had continental GP4000's on my Dawes and got very annoyed with the amount of punctures I was getting. I then bought Michelin Pro races 3's and had the same problem.

Turned out it was my rims catching the tube, as the supplied stock rim tape was ****. I bought some decent quality rim tape from wiggle, cycled 450 miles across france in one week without a puncture!! I have cycled approx. 700 miles since that trip and still haven't had one.

So, Pro Races 3's and Velox rim tape from wiggle are the perfect combination!
