Hi all, hope you had a good summer.
Just after some advice. I had some new deore shifters fitted about 8 months ago by my LBS. They worked fine after.
Anyway broke my leg and had it pinned and could not ride until last week for the first time.
I went out and the shifter moved but the mech did not.
So I took it back to my LBS with my original reciept and the chap fixed it and said that because I had not used it that the mechanism in the shifters have seized.
I thought this to be bull to some extent but he fixed it.( i have mechanical enginerring expereince)
On my way home from the shop it happened agojn but to both the shifters.
No w he will not fix it as he says I am using the mechs wrong bearing in mind I have had MTBs for 10 years plus and have never had this problem before.
Any suggestions lads and ladettes to where what he says to be right or just fobbing me off.
Cheers all

Is it not just cabe tension that is very low? Are the shifters clicking?0

or the cables are mucky/sticky?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Hi again. Sorry for the silence but had to get a new comp.
Anyway to continus the shifter for the chainrings I have sorted, however the rear mech only wants to stay on the 32 tooth sprocket (largest) and the 12 tooth sprocket (smallest)
In between there is no clicking (indexing) present. The cables are new, the tension is fine and are clean and lubed.0
