A few weeks ago, whilst changing my front dérailleur, decided to put a powerlink in the chain. The other day I noticed that the chain already had one!!!! It wasn't gold, but the same colour, hence never noticed and lbs who fitted it never mentioned it.

My instinct is that this shouldn't be a problem, but just looking for other opinions.

Cheers

I've used one on the commute for months without any problem at all.
    FCN 2-4.

"What happens when the hammer goes down, kids?"
    "It stays down, Daddy."
    "Exactly."
  • Should be no worries at all - I ran 3 in my last chain for around 6 months before the chain finally wore out. Regardless, I would probably just run the one so then you have a spare one for if/when your chain snaps ... otherwise you'll just be back to traditional "pin fiddling" - not fun if you're in a rush to / from work ...
