i have a scott aspect fx25,im looking at upgrading the forks to rockshox 318 coil u-turn,im looking at buying a new headset as well,the headset i have at mo is Ritchey Logic OE integ 1.1/8"...so my question is do i have to buy the same type of headset(integrated) or can i buy any as long as they are same size(1.1/8")...

You need exactly the same type of headset.
If nothing is wrong with the one you have, I'd keep it.0 -
theres nothing wrong with the one ive got on,but it will mean ill have
to remove the crown race from my old forks, which means a big hammer....
so as long as i get a integrated headset ill be ok???0 -
It is much easier to remove a crown race than fit one! Unless is a split race. They come off in seconds with a screwdriver and hammer.
You have to be careful with the naming of the headsets - some retailers use different words. Have a look in the FAQ here for exact standards.0 -

Tip - spraya little plus gas on it incase the race has rusted. Use a very sharp stanley nife to try and ease it up a little. The break out the hammer and screwdriver!0

sorry.....im even more confused now which aint hard to do,still dont really know if i need exact same headset or just get any ritchey integrated headset at same size :oops:0

I take it your bike frame has no headset cups? If so is defintely an integrated of some type. The bearings just drop into the frame.0
