I'm not commenting on the weather....
..but the gilet is getting used a bit, and I could do with some arm warmers to go with it.
Any comments, recommendations? I've just been eyeing up the Endura FS260s.

Anything with a roubaix fleece lining.
I have Rapha and Specialized ones. The Rapha ones are more comfy with a nicer grip at the top and flat seams.
The specialized ones were cheaper.
Armwarmers are grand...0 -

Arm warmers are a great bit of kit with a gilet.
Mine are Odlo, had 'em years and used all the time.25th August 2013 12hrs 37mins 52.3 seconds 238km 5500mtrs FYRM Never again.0 -
There are thin ones and thick ones, or put another way, warm ones and warmer ones.
Sorry couldn't resist.0 -
i dare say arm warmers are useless. an assos early winter base layer does the job nicely.0

Sitting at my desk, I've got a knee warmer on under my suit. Tweaked the knee, and with a couple of big races coming up, am trying everything for a quick recovery. Feels quite funky!
Never tried arm warmers (tend to go for l/s base layer), but can certainly recommend these knee warmers for the autumn.Scott Scale 20 (for xc racing)
Gary Fisher HKEK (for commuting)0 -
I've got some Santini Roubaix ones from Prendas - they're really good:

"Actual Pro Issue!
Exclusive to Prendas!" apparently.
£200 -
The Spesh ones are good in that they are windproof at the front and thinner at the back. I have some Scott ones that are thin and great for cool mornings in Summer but expensive at £29.99. Those Prendas ones look good esp.since they have dual grippersM.Rushton0

I go for a long-sleeved base layer, but one of the guys I ride with has the Spesh ones and rates them. Didn't cost much, IIRC.0

Why are armwarmers useless?.
I use these cheapy ones from prendas http://www.prendas.co.uk/details.asp?typ=typ&fkid=14&ID=1037'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0 -
because if you havent tried an assos baselayer, you dont know what your missing out on.
& ignorance is not bliss0 -
I use Castelli thermoflex arm and leg warmers. They do the job and I would buy them again given the choice and (not that it really matters) I love the logo0

I've got the defeet armskins and like them. They are sort of woolly rather than roubaix. I've only had them a few weeks and they are my first pair ever so it might be too soon to tell for sure but I definitely like them.0

Brillant piece of kit IMO, all those talking about L/S baselayers are missing the point of arm warmers, i.e. you can take them on and off, on the move.
Defeet are good, and I also have just got some Mavics which seem good although a bit lighter weight.0 -
yep :?
and i get faffed about when i ask about leg warmers.0 -
+1 for Rapha Arm Warmers,
except get the black ones. I got the white ones with the black stripe, they look like poka dots in the rain0 -
Cheers all.
I've got base layers and LS tops and jackets and all that, so it's not really about which is better or preferrable.
Rather, what is a good arm warmer.
No one tried the Endura ones then?Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
Gore do a decent pair. Windstopper soft shell panels & a good fit. £20ish from Evans.0

I've got some Pearl Izumi armwarmers which were fairly pricey @ £21.99 but they have a generous range of sizes with a separate size for S,M,L + XL. They are a failrly warm Roubaix fabric but fit well and don't slip down-on me anyway.
The Endura ones- I would say depends what size your upper arms are.Their largest size were just too constricting on me.0 -
These DHB ones from Wiggle are great value and I've used them for 3 years now and they're still in great condition. Cant go wrong for £15

Do arm warmers ever stay up?
I have a pair of specialized ones in size S ( i am a skinny runt) but the dam things still slip half way down my arms.0 -
A LS base layer is not at all the same as armwarmers. A base layer - as comfy as it might be - is designed to wick and be worn under an outer layer. I'd only wear a LS base when it's really cold under an Evo LS jersey or Airblock 851 jacket. I wouldn't normally wear armwarmers under an LS jersey, though they're passable. Armwarmers and SS jersey with a good baselayer do me fine down to zero degrees often.
For armwarmers, Assos or Giordana are good. Giordana are cheap and not quite as good as the Assos (they lose their elasticity more quickly). The Rapha ones are thicker and less elastic but comfortable. Completely agree on the white Rapha ones - they don't wear that well.0 -

The Prendas own brand ones are great for skinny arms, and cheap too. I had previously tried Revolution arm warmers and they wouldn't stay up at all.

The Endura Roubaix Armwarmers look like a good deal to me.
Nice price and favourable reviews.
Though maybe I could cut the arms off my Rapha baselayer and put some clingy rubber stuff around the ends.
