So both my good road bike and my commuter are needing new rubber.
The road bike has been running a Bonty X-lite AC front and GP4000 rear (the Bonty was an emergency purchase after the front one died suddenly after a very short time). Riding is mostly dry weather stuff, but a lot of time in the little lanes of the Surrey Hills which are often slimy, slippy, potholed and covered in gravel even on a blazing summers day. Sort of tempted to try tubeless as my rims don't need converting. Or do I go Michelin Pro3 or Vredestein or Vittoria...? Confoozled. Too much choice!
Commuting - have been using Conti Gatorskins. Anything better? London roads, all weather. Michelin Krylions? The Bonty X-lite AC didn't seem too bad, but it hasn't seen much wet action.
Both in 700x23...
Thanks!

All the Bonty's I've used were hard wearing but slippy as hell.
For the roadie I'd go Mich PR3 for out-and-out peformance, or Krylions if you want them to last longer. Having said that, I've just gone tubeless (Hutch Fusion2s) and I love them. If you're tempted then I'd say go for it, the claims are true basically.
For the commuter, then I either use 25mm Krylions or 28mm Conti GP4Seasons. Both are good tyres - tough, last well but grippy and fastish.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0
