Can't see the images because I'm at work, but guessing from the URL it's a Boardman Pro. I think the answer is no! I don't know specifically what's making you think that, but I noticed mine has got the same mech hanger as my crappy old Claud Butler, it had me worried until I realised that it was flipping brilliant to ride, and my old bike wasn't! They may well be made in the same factory, alongside Meridas or Giants or GTs, so there's a possibility that they use a similar profile for the frame, but tweak it, e.g., more butting, stiffer and lighter on the Boardman.

I agree with above. It is probably just that both Boardman and Carerra are buying frames from the same supplier.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Does it actually matter as long as you are happy with the bike. Some of the Carrerras are ok anyway.

I think the angle between the chain stay and seat stay looks different - more acute on the Carrera

The welds on the boardman are much neater too.

There's an awful lot more to a frame than what's pictured. I'm thinking that's a Fury, don't know what Boardman it is but I reckon you'll find geometry differences etc elsewhere as the Fury's built for long travel. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the frames came out of the same factory though, but don't worry about it, the same will be true for lots of other manufacturers frames. (and besides, Carrera are good bikes!)

It is a dropout seen on many bikes made in the Far East - I think merida manufacture it.
  • Either way, there's no pivot to be seen anywhere. Take it back and get a susser !

    Merida do manufacture it.

Welds on teh Boardman are substantially sweeter and better to look at. The boardman is different because the top tube is different shape to the carrera.

That boardman is the Pro HT btw
