Frame Sizes

I'm looking to get a new MTB. I currently ride a 17" Cannondale. I am 6ft and 112kg (17st 12ish) I love smaller frames but do suffer a bit with back trouble. I have been advised to size up. I am looking at getting a COVE Handjob. My lbs has a 17" for sale and there is a 19.5" on ebay.

Any ideas on what should guide my decision?
The road is long...so take a shortcut.

    how do the other sizes compare?

    Top tube length etc...

    I'm not sure.I guess I should try them out but they're all different so even if I took a bigger bke out it wouldn't be the same as the cove :( it's a toughy
