Best climbing battles/tours of previous non grand tours?

Recently had a good response from the following thread:

So this time around, I'm trying to find reccomendations on previous non grand tours, and also one day races which had some great climbing battles and stages? I have been trying to get hold of tours such as Dauphine, and Suisse, but which years of these tours are the best to check out?
