My new Sunday Best

...and wait for the stick :P
The best of it is:
I got the triple for the cost of the compact (saving £20)
Because I collected it (from Cardiff!) they knocked £100 off... it cost me £40 in petrol (I cruised)
I asked if they had the speedtrap computer and sensor in stock - they did: Computer £60, sensor £16 but I could have BOTH fitted for £55!!!
As I had some money left on credit I got the matching cages and bottles and God help me, I even got co-ordinated pedals
Was that a bargainlishous purchase or what?
Sunset MTB are the shop and I heartedly recommend them to anyone wanting anything bike related - the customer service and feedback was second to none. 8)
So if it's dry on the fat boy weekend I'll be on the Sunday best (otherwise I'll strip down the Tricross.... )
Now I just have adjust my signature - Gawd what will my FCN on the Trek be??? :?

Terrible.
The chain's on the wrong ring, and the valves aren't hidden behind the frame. I these things don't matter when taking photos of CX bikes, but a least show some pride with a proper one.0 -
I like the oddly angular frame. It kind of looks like it has tendons.0

very, very nice ride mate, I'm not jealous at all A quick tip, the harder you ride her, the better she responds Give her some real stick in the corners and she'll surprise you with what she's capable ofpain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

Yep. I was going for the double but they were sold out and did the triple for the same cost.
I think I may prefer this option now as it's easier to change the cassette than faff with the front changer 52/12 and 50/11 are barely different in gearing and the triple allows for steep hills and the option of 52/11Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

I will, the first chance I get - only it's blowing a bloody gale out there right now and there are NASTY clouds on the horizon!
If it's good tomorrow I'm going to do the fat boy run to make sure it's okay and time it. I may have to walk the bridleway section and carry the bike....Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

+1. You need to line up the writing on the tyre walls and the wheel rims, but I had to take a couple of deep breaths when I saw the crank position too.
:P Congrats. Think I know Sunset. Down off Crwys Road, aren't they?FCN 2-4.

ah be fine, though that wind at least here is gusting, so I guess could catch one out, my bikes are largly safe in wind, the commute bike weighs as much as a tank so gusts don't shunt it out of line, and the roadie is old steel lump which doesn't seem to know how to get unsettled.
and to be honest a CX and roadie are very close in many ways.0 -
Gawd you lot are hard to please - I'll recharge the batteries on the camera and retake the photo then! :roll:Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

4.5 - I couldn't justify the extra £300 for the 4.7 to myself. I could've sworn the 4.5 was all 105, but this has the Ultegra rear, so I'm not complaining.Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Naaah, the valves should probably be at the bottom so the text on the rims is optimally placed. Biggest error is the one that impacts performance. The computer magnet should be opposite the valve to help balance the wheel
Nice bike Keiran. I think you made the right call on the bottle cages!Faster than a tent.......0 -
