Hi all,
Yes I know - another custom build, 'work in progress' thread. Sorry! Anyway, I quite liked the idea of keeping you all entertained as I get various new bits and pieces over the next couple of months. My aim is to get a new, white, Santa Cruz Superlight frame over Christmas and bolt all the bits I have onto it.
My plan is to keep my RS Revelations 426 2008, Raceface Deus crankset, Avid Juicy 5s, XTR pedals, Panaracer Fire XC Pros and XT geary bits from my current bike and put it all onto the new frame.
These came today (I'm surfing the sales!) Still to come are some white DMR Zip grips and some Brand-X red crankset bolts.
Looking further into the future, I'm feeling the following:
- Hope Hoops Pro 3 SP-XC6 wheels
- Hope Stainless Steel Bottom Bracket (in red :-) )
- Hope headset (the normal one), again in red
I'm unsure on which saddle (I've put a post in the buying advice forum), and am tempted by red QR skewers and seat clamp... My aim is to keep it all really lightweight though!
Questions, comments, ideas, thoughts, criticisms all welcome.

Yawn, another WIP thread, whatever next
Nah, really nice to see another WIP thread, liking the parts you have just received, and that SC Superlight should be a lovely frame too, have you noticed the amount of white bikes now appearing, whites the new blackOrange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

It's white so I can match my white forks with it. I'm thinking a white and black theme with red shiney bits (hence the red crankbolts!)0

White shows up the mud better! :-)
I've updated my original post with 'plans' and I've made the picture a decent size :-)0 -
Forget the DMR Zips, get some spank lock ons
I paid the extra few quid and LOVE um
Edit: Oh yeah, +10 for the white superlite0 -
Am liking these Superlight frames - have been considering building my stumpy kit onto a new frame, and have been thinking carbon, but prob too much for the amount I will use the bike.
The superlight looks a good alternative
Be interested to see how it builds up

Biggus86 - they do look pretty cool, I'll agree! The brown lock-on bits will look a bit off-colour though..!
gcwebbyuk - the Superlight frames are pretty light :-) Take a test ride as I gather they are quite different from most full-sussers, but I enjoyed my ride!0 -
A couple of items came this weekend :-)
DMR zip grips (which look really cool) and the Brand-X red crankset bolts. Picture below!
I think a white saddle will finish the tarty bits off quite nicely - I'm very interested in the Charge Spoon!

Charge spoon would look good - don't go for the white Syncros seat like i did on my SL, not comfy at all.......White SDG Bel Air's are good.

...and a charge spoon it is! :-)
