Sky have just reported that Bertie's pulled out of the World's. Says his fitness isn't up to scratch.

    but he doesnt need to train, surely he can come right off the beach and win?

    I didn't think he'd be riding anyway. He's achieved his goal in the Tour and was present in some of the earlier races this year but with all he's got on his plate, for a workplace bully to the worries about Vino's mafia, no wonder he's not racing much.

    One day races have never been Bertie's thing really, he tends to be a uber water carrier at the Worlds and Olympics so no surprise there
