Endura Stealth are OK for the rain, but they feel horrible and restrictive in comparison to a decent tight like Assos.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

+1 for Endura bibtights. I've got the one's with the waterproof section on the shins and have found them to be the best I've tried and half the price of Assos. I had a pair of Assos Airblock bibtights and they wore through the seat area after about 5 months. I also found the airblock material somewhat restrictive around the knees.

+1 Endura with waterprrof shins - can't remember the name. I've had two pairs and they've been brilliant. Tough and snug.

The offer for Altura bib tights costs £120/year but normal subscription only costs £87/year so you are getting about £14 off a £47 pair of tights (assuming that you wanted to pay £87 to read Cycling Weekly for a year).

I wanted the Prendas 3/4 bib tights but have just this moment noticed that I missed the boat because they only have very small sizes left.

Thats why you should have gone for the Airprotecs which are designed differently around the knee area. Superb tights imo.

I found the Specialized thermal ones really good when it was below 5c
  • Thanks I'll see if I can find somewhere that stocks the Endura's to try them....the Specialized ones look pretty good too. Dont really want to spend Assos money if I can avoid it...I have a pair of their bib shorts so appreciate the quality but £200 is a lot of money!
  • I've used Di Marchi contours for 2 years and they are the best longs i've ever had.

I have those for commuting and they are very warm, but I still think the assos Uma bibs are better. Not sure what model the men's equivalent is, but basically rather than being bulky, they are wind proofed on thighs and knees, which even with a low bulk material, makes for a warmer pair of tights.

Endura also do a windproofed version, called the windtex? but it's not as comfy/stretchy as the regular version, so not as nice on the bike. It's warmer and ideal for really cold days but not as good for 90% of days.
