Fitting Tyres!?

I have just bought myself some Conti Town & Country tyres for commuting, but looking at the diagram attached to the tyres, it shows applying some sort of tape/adhesive to the rim of my wheel. I have never done this before when changing tyres, do I have to with these, or is that if i'm using tubeless option?

    That would be rim tape then! Your wheels probably already have it stuck on. If your rim looks like this then it hasn't got any tape stuck on, but if it looks like this then it has :-)
