Hello, thought I'd introduce myself as a newbie to the forum.
Been lurking for a couple of weeks and felt it was about time I joined the arena.
Just picked up my new bike on Cyclescheme:
Genesis Flyer 09 (yep, the horrible shade of green one).
It's my first decent bike after commuting on a 15-year-old-weighs-more-than-a-tank hybrid.
It's also 1st time on singlespeed (no intentions of going fixed), 1st time on dropped bars and 1st time on clipless pedals so got a steep learning curve ahead.
My commute is 9.2 miles each way of countryside east of York and therefore pretty flat, hence the move to SS for the coming winter crud.

Matt, welcome to the forum, hope you have fun here and enjoy providing your opinion and having questions answered. Only been on here a month and have had a lot of great tips and answers to (sometimes) stupid questions.
Like the bike, I had thought of a SS but joined The Dark Side and got a Tricross Sport, mainly as I could also do some touring on it, and had grown weary of the MTB on slicks for commuting. It is now christened Mary Doll, as I commute into central Glasgow down Maryhill Road.
Enjoy!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -

True, but being a bit on the inexperienced side when it comes to doing things to bikes, its more likely I will ask stupid things!! For gawds sake, I couldnt even put on mudguards!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -
