Hi guys!
I'm redoing this message with a different title, as no replies.
So: Can somebody point me towards some sources that show (not just talk about) routes in Exmoor?
I've searched the forums (befor eyou mention it) but all I can find is just talk about Exmoor and North Devon, not actual usable routes.
Enyone?
As I'm heading to Ilfracombe next week, any route suggestions around there would be great (yes, I know about Dartmoor and haldon).
thanks.

Hi Lilly!
Back in June I've spent a week in Exmoor (near Minehead) and did quite a lot of riding there. I used South West Mountain Biking Guide- Quantocks, Exmoor , Dartmoor and found it really usefull. I know it is more west then Ilfracombe (approx 30 miles) but I can defenitely reccomend Porlock Weir and County Gate area for sea views and great choice of descents in the end and Smalla Combe whiz through the pine woodland in between. Horner Wood for a killer on-road climb and well worth it down hill , although it's fairly small it was easy for me to get lost in there twice. If you have time visit Lynton and Valley of Rocks and for some great views and maybe jumps go to Lee Bay - absolutely amazing little beach. Got some photos as well, pm if u want more info.
Hope u will enjoy your time in Exmoor.0 -

As people say there are a couple of good books for the area. Exmoor is full of useable tracks and most can be made into decent circuits with the odd bit of quiet lane. Couple I've done this summer are the Doone Valley (As in Lorna Doone). This includes a great long river side descent. If you start at the village of Malsmeade climb up out onto the moor on the road, take a left onto the moor and then a left to take you back down into the Doone Valley and alongside the river - about 6 miles and not too tough. (All easily seen on the OS). Alternatively Park at the Valley of the rocks car park in Lynton and ride up out onto the moor before dropping back into the village. Nice ride but lots of climbing to earn those descents. There are also a fair number of bridleways around Ilfracombe/Woolacombe/Croyde that you can link together with some road sections but be aware that many of the hills are brutal whether on or off road!Scott Genius 08, Marin Rock Springs 08, Marin Pine Mountain 890
