Fox shoes - worth buying?

I've been looking for some grippy shoes to go with my V12 pedals. I came across a pair of Fox 'The Addition' shoes in my local TK Maxx yesterday for £30. The sole looks like it's designed to grip a pedal, but I can't find any decent reviews anywhere.
Has anyone had Fox shoes before and are they any good?
Here's the ones I found:

They look comfortable, and will prob grip as well.
And I would wear them with normal clothes, so not that bad, they are 50.00 elswere.
You can get new models of dc and stuff for about 30.00 though.0 -
Yeah I know, I wear skate shoes all the time. But I don't have any with a specific biking sole, they all have tight sole patterns that don't let the pins on my pedals get a good bite. That's what made me look at these Foxes! That and the fact they are leather and so can be wiped down easily.
Seemed a bit narrow/tight, and don't know if the sole is actually grippy like a gum sole would be, so wanted other's opinions before I buy them.0 -
There was a review of these (or something very very similar) in MBR a few months back. They got an 8 or 9 i think, I;d say go for it"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

I bought a pair. The sole isn't particularly grippy and the gaps between the knobs is too small for a pedal stud to wedge in. I took them back and got a pair of Shimano shoes. They are crap as well.
Just save yourself money and get some 5:10s. I wish I had. I'm still waiting for my Shimano shoes to wear out though.0 -
I've just been back to the shop and took my pedal with me. The Fox had the best grip design of any shoe there, but I did think the sole material was a bit on the smooth side, rather than sticky and gummy.
Don't want to spend £65 on the 5.10s, cos there's plenty more things I need to get as well, that's what made these quite tempting. But no, I've decided against them. I reckon the DC pill pattern sole is a pretty good bet, as are some of the Vans waffle soles.0
