Will a 11 speed rear mech work on a 10 speed system? I'm particularly concerned about '11 speed' jockey wheels using the wider 10 speed chain.

Can'y answer your question, but I'd have to ask why? A ten speed mech is cheaper and does the same job ( and according to others will work perfectly with 11 speed).
  • A fair response but I'm struggling to find a 10 speed Record rear mech. I thought I'd be forced into buying the 11 speed version.

I'd heard (on here) just the opposite :!: Something about different parallelogram geometries and whatnot :?:

If the 10 speed rear mech will work with an 11 speed setup I'll be well happy as it will only cost me around £400 () to go 11

Have you tried ebay? I found mine on there about 6 months ago no bother. Combined with a carbon inner plate and Token TiRamic jockey wheels it's also 4 gramms lighter than the 11 speed Super Record mech :!: :D

I don't think you can.Something to do with the 'parallelogram' I think Brian at TWMP had this conundrum the other week. Just get a Chorus mech. if record isn't available.
