i know you're looking for one for under 50 notes and i know this'll probably get people bitching about assos kit but i bought an element zero for £85 a couple of years ago. i can seriouly say it's one of the best pieces of kit i own. it's so durable and i wear it all year round.

Page23, I agree with your good self, I have a Rapha Gilet and feel that it too is awesome. The Gore one is good but I much prefer the Rapha one. A good gilet is very versatile and is a boon all year round.
The Assos ones are excellent but the black one (the colour I wanted) made me look like a camp Darth Vader
  • I've been pleasantly surprised by the Altura Reflex Gillet. I wasn't very clued up about Gillets so just plumped for one that had a good review on Bike Radar and have been very happy with it.

I don't know how I've lived without one for the last few years.

I've got a Campag one and I'm so fond of it I wear it down the shops sometimes.

has anyone got an Endura Ultralite, as I'm tempted at £30?
