With not a lot to do apart from lying on couch suffering from the flu, I have decided to christen my new Tricross bike. I had thought about running a poll to see what you lot would decide on, but as my commute is up and down Maryhill Road into the centre of Glasgow, I could think of no other choice other than Mary.

Does anyone know where I could get a custom bike transfer with the name on it?

Also, what do you call yours?

I've 5 bikes so have to be a bit more inventive. Hence 'the scott', 'the planet-x'... you get the idea. What I'll do if I ever have two from the same manufacturer I do not know.

    Easy, get different colours.

I'm dreading my second child being another boy, so far I've been calling it number 2. If it is a boy I might buy him a tiny eye patch.

One of my mates used to differentiate my bikes by colour (blue bike or white bike). Of course, now the new frame is nearly exactly the same hue as the race bike ...

Interesting. Unfortunately, that will preclude getting another scott as CR1 CD SL* is a bit of a mouthful ;) Could get a pinarello... the new dogma is luurvly (need to win the lottery first, though)

    * plus some other TLAs I've forgotten no doubt

Model names are a bit rubbishy now, especially for scott owners, that's why I suggest a red one a black one and maybe a yellow one :D

I tend to refer to my bikes as "MTB" or "Beefy" and "Trek" or "The Hybrid".

If I sell the Trek and get a new commuter hybrid I might give it a name :)

Considering your in Rab C Nesbitt territory in that part of the weedge.

Should it not be called Mary-doll? :D

  • My commuter's called Steve 'cos it's a Ridgeback Bullitt.

The others are "my red bike" (Specialized Hardrock Hardtail - red) and "my pretty bike" (Trek 1000) - clearly had an imagination failure for those....

Up until recently, mine were "my road bike" and "my mountain bike". Now they're "my old road bike", "my old mountain bike", "my new road bike" and "my new mountain bike."
