Getting white kit clean

So in a fit of extravagance, I lashed out on a posey white* Gore jersey that was in the Condor sale on Saturday. Wore it yesterday for a longish thrash, and it ended up with a nice skunk stripe up the back. Through the washing machine (40°C, Ecover tablet) and whilst most of the stains have gone, there's still quite a few left.

So, given the popularity of white jerseys/shorts etc, what's the trick for keeping them properly clean?

Thank y'all!

* I know better than to buy white gear for MTBing in, but I thought it was worth a try for road use!

...or use mudguards in the wet. 8)

White clothing is only for dry sunny days...
  • Technically it wasn't wet!. Just a bit damp & greasy in the shade occasionally. That bike won't take mudguards. Hell, tyres barely fit!
