Hi, I have recently purchased a Fox rp23 shock and would just like to know the thoughts of other people that have bought one.

Before i bought it i was told that it was great as it has the pro-pedal facility. 3-stage options of lock-out. Is it me?? or does it not lock out?? It seems to do very little indeed. I had a normal Fox float R before and when you needed to ride it for distances where you didnt want lots of rear end travel i just added pressure to the shock and away i went. Dont get me wrong, it does work much smoother and its performance is better.

I have started to think that i might have used my hard earned in a better way. What do other people think??

It does not lock out, it has 3 settings of pro pedal (anti bob system) you should notice a difference when riding

Very good shocks, but whoever told you it locks out was wrong.

    Thanks,

I havent had a chance to get out on it yet as the shock only arrived with me yesterday and today i have been out on my road bike. I will get out on it as soon as possible to do a comparison.

    Thanks for your time.

The best air can about, only way to improve on it would be to send it to tf tuning to have it pushed then it makes a nice difference.

I'ts a good shock so i wouldn't worry about it just have fun.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

    Dont worry.

I had a Giant NRS with the original shock and changed to a Fox Float RP2.

The PP setting was perfect for the giant which hardened up things just enough to give no bob, but you could set the suss up with some sag and switch to open for the bumpy stuff.

That's like saying i want a door for my car that doesn't meet the roof, because I once had the wind blow it shut when I was getting in, and I had my head squished between, well, the door and the roof.

..why thank you. Only got it last week and it is blooming brilliant. Was surprised how little bob it had with that long swingarm...I dont have to touch the propedal lever on this one; just leave it in open all the time.

    what compression/rebound tune is it?

You need to look at the graphics on the air can and there should be 3 blocks for compression tune 3 blocks for rebound tune if one is shaded then you have a low tune, if all 3 are shaded then its a high tune.
