Once again, Garmin show that they are terrible at playing "chicken".
Not there in numbers, when Farrar needed them."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Hmm...lets hope the next couple of stages don't turn out the same way. The last 10km or so were ridiculously fast. I'm not a fan of them starting in this neck of Europe tbh.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Some riders, such as Gesink are still MIA......."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

I'm sure I read somewhere that Andy was only at the Vuelta for training and probably won't finish.
Then again, Andy Schleck is probably the most able of all the riders in the race when he's on form, so if he fancies his chances, why not go for it? He could also work with his brother, perhaps "gifting" him a win so that come next July he can get his big bro to work for him properly.0 -
I heard he was gonna see where he was after a week or 10 days and then take it from there0

I bloody hope not!!
And can someone tell the sprinters that if they aint gonna win, to please not sit up.. there are serious PTP points in the offing!0 -

Perhaps they're going to ride for Fuglsang? He's not lost any time and would like to do well. The Schlecks logic probably is if you go for it in the Vuelta you'll be knackered for the Worlds and Lombardy. And with the Worlds course possibly suiting them it would be sensible to concentrate on it.
I'd expect to see them attack maybe just for a hard workout.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
So is Gesink out or what? Still only 173 riders listed on the official site... surely there can't be 25 abandons after 1 road stage :shock:0

Martin finished 99th in the group 18 seconds down.
Gesink and Kreuziger did indeed finish in the first group."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
julian and farrar communication breakdown...
farrar looked out of sorts to be honest"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -
Garmin took the chase up too quickly, ditto quickstep and Boonen in the sprint.
how many times does Millar have to destroy every one , 1 kilometre too soon?
thanks
