i tried last night for ages to get mine to inflate, i even drove the wheel down to the local garage to use an even higher pressure compressor. it just doesnt seem to want to seal?

i think my tyres are a little to sloppy and need to be held against the rim more?

  • the trick is to get the tube and tyre really soapy.
Use a 50:50 mix of washing up liquid and water. Any more water and it'll be too runny!

Try pushing down on the tyre at the valve while you pump, this pushes the sidewalls out to the rim.

    Yes, soapy water does help.

Also, if they're new tyres, put them on a rim with a tube, pump them up to 50, and leave them for half an hour. This stretches them out and makes them fit better.

However, saying all that, I got two tyres to seal yesterday using nothing but a track pump. They were new tyres as well, hadn't been stretched, and no soapy water or anything.
