For about the 12th time in their career ;-)0

Thankfully Oasis was a bandwagon i decided not to jump on.....2nd rate 60s tribute band.
If they have split will anyone really miss them?0 -
Yeah! I like some of their stuff! They are great live.
Good to see a proper 5 piece band instead of the dross we mostly get today.0 -
yeah i'll miss them, altough their newer material is not a patch on their older stuff, definitely maybe was an absolute cracker of an album and the base for a lot of the modern stuff we hear today. morning glory was almost as good too and their awesome live.0

They've not done owt special musically for years but I have to say, their 'greatest hits' singalongs at the big venues are absolutely quality. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
I remember seeing them at Loch Lomond in 1996.
It was a good day, but I'm not going to lose much sleep over them splitting, their new stuff had ran out of steam anyway. At least Noel will continue to perform and he was always the brains of the outfit.
There's plenty of great bands out there at the moment and I'll be off to see Editors and Placebo in the coming weeks
I'm currently digging a new Glasgow band called Oswald. Daft name, I know, but good tunes.

hope it means that we never see that whiney no talent tw*t liam ever, ever again.{insert smartarse comment here}0 -
i'll miss them as i've been a fan right from the start and i've been to see them load's of times where they always put on a good performance
if they do split up i wouldn't be to suprised if they were to make a huge comeback after 3 years or so, look at the rolling stones they're still going now aren't they?2019 Ribble CGR SL

I think the Stones should really just quit. It's just not right seeing men fast approaching their 70's prancing about like teenagers. The music has hardly been inspiring for the last few albums as well.0 -
Noel has always said he wanted to do some solo stuff. Good time to start now!
I agree, there will be a big comeback tour and album...0 -
Liam is just a braindead c0ckend they are stuck with, or Noel is. Just so happens he's the front man and half the sound that makes Oasis, Oasis, and he's a pretty good 'rock n roll' front man at that. Unfortunate.0
-
Liam's voice has 'deterioted' lol. I could never say it was great, but lately he has not been making much effort - sort of just noises, and missing the ends of words off.0

mmmm, I'm with Joe on this one. Been a fan from the start, been to see them live loads of times but they are not what they used to be. Enjoyed everything before Standing on the shoulders of giants, then enjoyed Heathen Chemistry. Last album didnt do anything for me apart from a couple of songs.
I'd quite like to see Noel try some solo stuff a'la Richard Ashcroft, if only to see if he is any good.0 -
Me too but I get the feeling Noel doesn't actually believe he's good enough to carry it off, like a confidence thing. And I'm not sure if the desire is there to take that leap either listening to his interviews.0
-
Are you kidding?
If you look in the dictionary under 'overconfidence' there's a photo of Noel Gallagher!
He'll go it alone, or they'll kiss and make up. Either way this is all good publicity for 'The best band in the world'.0 -
yeh but look underneath the blag when he's being reflective and really talking sense. No doubt there'll be a comeback tour, bet your pants on it. :P0
-
Yeah, guaranteed.
I'll probably get tickets for it!0 -

mind you...whether you like them or not....in the early 90's when everything in the UK looked distinctly techno, pop, or total pants, at least the likes of Oasis and Blur etc got a load of kids listening to guitar music and real bands again.....
Definately Maybe was a great album and half of Morning Glory was excellent too....Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.
