Saying goodbye to 26'' wheels forever - 29er bug has bitten

I'm in the process of getting a Niner frame and am going the way of the 29er experience. Have spent the whole of August riding a Niner RIP (friends) and am sold on the idea.

Noticed I crash a lot less on bigger wheels and find the roling resistance to be simply mindblowing especially on climbs/

Anyone else got the 29er bug|?

There are a fair few disadvantages with larger wheels as well of course.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
  • Leading up to finally getting my Pylon8 deal and still now to a lesser extent, I am fascinated by 29ers. I think part of it is my appreciation of "leftfield" designs for all sorts of items, not just bikes.

Part of me would love to buy a cheap 'n' cheerful 29er frame (eg. On One Inbred; Viper the 29 etc.), source bargain bits from round the web and then learn how to assemble all the pieces together.

29inch wheels has some nice advantages most notably they role nicely. But there so unwieldy and slugish that you may end up like me and get bored of it in a few months.
