I can get either brand new 08 Pro Road or 07 S-works shoes for the same bargain price.
Are the 09 Pro Roads muh different than the 08 model?
Same really for the S-works, and if you had the choice which would you go for.
The main racing guy at the LBS swears by the S-works BOA system, but I kinda prefer the reliable appearance of the Pro's traditional system.
Any comments would be very much apprecited.

The pro's actually have a stiffer sole than the s-works so are better for sprinting etc. The s-works are not quite as stiff but are lighter. You will find that many of the pro's use the s-works shoes for climbing etc but stick to the pro's for flat stages. So it really depends on what type of riding you do. I have a set of specialized pro road 2009's and cant really tell any difference from the 2008 ones to be honest although i have noticed that the sole feels slightly stiffer and flexes less when getting out of the saddle. Hope this helps!0

Indeed it does thank you. I tend to look at the s-works with some scepticism over the BOA fasteners, and a few reviews seem to suggest it is prone to slipping. Just googled some more stuff and the s-works seem to have a tighter toe box too, so am going to try a piar of each tomorrow locally and take it from there.0

I have the 07 s works but he never had any trouble with the boa fastening. Excellent shoes.
Regarding the sole unless your name is cancellara I would not worry about stiffness! It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.0 -
Well, I ordered a pair of 08 Pro's for a rediculously good sum of money. Can't wait for them to arrive, and I jst hope they end my unhappiness. I have really been struggling to pedal hard on my last few rides thorugh foot irritation.0

Well the arrived, and the left foot is a 46 and the right a 47! Had it been the other way around I could have coped for the price but my lefty is half a size bigger than the right.
I think someone is taking the piss! Very very unhappy, rang the shop and they reckon that was the last pair (lol - pair is stretching it) so they will be having them back.
Gutted is an understatement.
Edit: I have emailed Spesh's UK Customer Services to see if they can resolve the issue direct by supplying a replacement pair. I will soon find out what their attitude to customers is!0 -
