hi everyone,

i'm going to be cycling from devon to the pyramids (setting off in september) and am wondering who to get travel insurance through. the company i usaually use for my back packing trips won't cover my bike and don't offer enough cover for expensive items like tents etc. Any advice much appreciated - and sorry to bother you all with something as borriing as insurance!

Best bets are either CTC or Snowcard/Activcard or Fortis (who underwrite the Activcard policy). Or maybe British Mountaineering Council. Depending on how long you are going you may need to check the limits for individual trips.
  • thanks very much for that - i'll get on and get that sorted today.
  • Will your house contents insurance cover your kit?
Worth checking. May be that camping kit is not covered, so read the documents carefully, but it might allow you then to have normal travel insurance in respect of personal insurance?
