Does anyone know what the latest on Valv.Piti is? I thought the UCI was supposed to be reading the file from CONI but have not heard any more. With the Vuelta looming, it looks like he will ride

But what if a UCI official makes up their mind mid-race to ban him? Also, what happens if he does a decent ride and then gets slapped with ban soon after? Once again a shadow is hanging over the sport whilst the paperwork gets shuffled.

Anyone know where things stand right now?

He's appealed to CAS against the CONI ruling.

The UCI will take no action until the CAS piece is complete.

  • Valverde is unique. He will ride out his two year ban, in hearings, appeals and general foot dragging.
Completely the opposite to those who turn out a positive and spend two years off the bike, in hearings, appeals and general foot dragging.

    Thanks for the explanations guys.

Odd to see him ride Zipps, he's supposed to be on Campagnolo wheels although obviously they don't make such deep rims. Not sure he'd like them though, apparently it's very windy in Holland right now.
