tell me about cannock chase!!!
im off up to cannock at the weekend and i just wanted to find out what other riding there is to do up there apart from follow the dog??
i used to ride up there every week untill about 4 years ago so got a reasonable idea on the lay of the land.
we used to park in a car park at the bottom of the old english way ??
there was iirc a lot of riding over by the rifle butt/quarry??
can anyone refresh my memory for me and give me an idea on whats over there now!!

There's been quite a few sections of cheeky singletrack lost over the last few years, either through forestry action or through too many tyres.
The quarry isn't really ridable any more IIRC. Too many air ambulance trips.
Obviously there are some new sections, but i'm afraid that they're a little more hidden than they used to be back in the day and the locals are a bit precious about them, what with the rest being lost to inches of year round filth.
But, the riding is still good, the trails are still fun and it's still a great place to ride. You just need to get out there.0
