What Bike Flat Bar or Drop?

Right here is the problem guys and girls,
I have never ridden a drop bar before, always a flat bar road bike. However i have looked at and like the look of the new Giant Rapid range.
The thing is i have discovered Orbea and have been seduced by them, though i've not ridden one yet, and they are drops.
I would have to more than double my budget for the Orbea Onix, so here is the question: would it be the right choice to go with the Orbea? i will be hopefully taking it out on the roads, maybe even Europe possibly, plus its one sexy piece of kit too...

I would always recommend drop bars over flat. If you don't get on with them then you can still use them as a flat bar.0

The two bikes you mention are very different. The Giant would be fine for "general tootling" - down to the shops / commuting etc.
...but if you wish to cover any distance and go at a fast pace, the drop bar bike is the way to go. The drop bars allow you a range of hand positions, tucking down in the drops is the best position for speed and more aerodynamic. The Orbea Onix is a great road bike & has many fans on the road forum.
It may be more expensive than the Giant, but there will be higher specification components throughout and a better frame. - You pays yer money...Cycling weakly0
