Kiron or Cayo

I'm looking to make the move from MTB and get my first road bike with the view to joining a club, doing the odd sportive and generally keeping fit. I've narrowed my choice down to two - both from Wiggle. They're the Kiron Blade at £800 and the Focus Cayo at £1000.

Both have 105 groupset, both similar weight. Pretty much the only difference is that the Cayo is carbon.

My original budget was £600, but this didn't get me what I wanted, so I stretched to £800 for the Kiron - which I was happy with until I realised another £200 would get the Cayo.

So, what's your opinion on the bikes and should I stretch my budget for full carbon?

Hahaha sounds like the same ordeal i've just been through. If you have the money then I'd get the cayo. Would be a pain in the neck to pay 800 for the kiron, then once you decide you love a road bike, regret not spending the little extra to get a carbon bike.

That's the impression I'm getting. Nobody every says, 'save your money, don't buy carbon'.
