When I played American Football I was insured for £15pcm full private health care included private ambulance, take car home from game/practice and most importantly, loss of earnings.

The company or scheme does seem to exist; IIRC Pinnacle Sports Insurance.

If you google it comes up with esportsinsurance.

If I were you, try and get it under written by a major insurer, such as Zurich, NFU and Legal and General

Independant financial advisor should be able to sort out some sickness/injury cover for you. May be pretty expensive as you are SE

I have the Cashback Accident Plan from here http://www.combinedinsurance.co.uk/Accident_Plans.html

I've only just signed up (cost me just under £150 for a year's premiums), I know someone that's been with them for years though and made a few claims for broken bones. Apparently they're pretty hassle free and the premiums don't go up after claims. I'm pretty well covered by my employer for longterm sick/disability stuff so didn't check out their other plans which cover that.
