Hi, I'm driving to France in September to visit a friend and was looking at taking my bike. Whats the best way to have it insured for theft when it's in my car (on the way/back) and for any possible accident I might have riding it. I'm not going to the Alps or anything crazy so I'm not sure one of these extreme sports policy's will be needed?
Any advice much appreciated

Try activcard/snowcard they have different levels of cover for different activities, used them before for kayaking trips to the Alps, only claimed once but had no issues with them0

Cheers just had a quick look and looks to fit the bill. Will have to read the small print to see if its covered for theft from my car though.0 -
Bikes are only covered for £500
Snow sport / Activity / Dive / Golf equipment; up to £2000
Subject to the appropriate premium having been paid you will be covered for the replacement cost (after allowing for wear, tear and loss of value) of your snow sport equipment (snowboard or skis including bindings, boots and poles), activity equipment, dive or golf equipment if it is lost, stolen or damaged. The total limit for hired equipment which is lost, stolen or damaged is £500. The single item limits are as follows: set of skis or snowboard including bindings £1000; kayaks, canoes, windsurfers, surfboards and dive equipment £500; bikes £500; otherwise the general single item limit is £350 other than for sets of golf clubs, which are covered up to £1000 in all per set/bag.0 -
Find out if there covered under your contents policy, I took out a policy that covers them while i'm not at home in UK and Europe even when in the car0

It's covered under the contents from theft apart from if its from the car. Think I will call them and see if it can be changed for the week.0
